Lane Stout's Gourd Vise
Lane Stout of Lousiana came up with the simple, yet ingenious gourd holder.  It will hold gourds while you sand them, cut them, attach accessories, etc.  It is nothing more than a 5 gallon bucket and some simple foam pipe insulation.  All the following pictures were provided by Lane Stout.  Thank you, Lane, for sharing you idea with others.

Insulation slid down over bucket rim and taped where ends meet.

5/8" pipe insulation installed on 5 gallon bucket to hold gourd while cutting.

First attempt at cutting out entrance and access ports. Gourd sitting in quickly made "Gourd Vise"

Opening plate is removable and can be interchanged with crescent opening.

  Non-removable crescent rain tunnel entrance.
