Tools for adding Tunnels or Adapters
I thought I would show some of the tools I use for adding these tunnels or adapters to gourds and houses. These tools are also used for general gourd or house preparation.
Front left to right on the top row:
1. Nicholson 8" 4 in hand Rasp #21860-This rasp has both fine and coarse teeth. It is also flat on one side and curved on the other.
2. Black and Decker #75-520 scrolling jig saw blades 10 teeth per inch. These blades give a fairly smooth cut and enable you to make tight turns with your jig saw.
3. Porter Cable Arbor and Cut-Off Blade #COWKIT. This is what I use to cut the slots in gourds for my add-on porches. It can be mounted in a drill or a large size dremel. It is the correct thickness for the porches so you need to make only one cut.
4. Black and Decker jig saw-nothing fancy here, just a simple lightweight jig saw.
From left to right on the bottom row:
1. A simple drill with a variety of drill bits
2. A small dremel tool. Do not waste your money on the single speed dremel tool. Go ahead and get one that has variable speeds. You will need them for different applications. A cut off wheel is mounted in this dremel.
3. Leaning up against the dremel tool is a dremel number 562 tile cutting bit. It is very handy and cuts in any direction.
4. Caulk gun
5. Tube of DAP Alex Plus Acrylic Latex Adheshive Caulk Plus Silicone Brilliant White. I use this caulk in nearly all of my applications.
