Christina M. Bunn

This page is dedicated to my mother, Christina Marion Kennedy Bunn, who went to soar the heavens on April 9, 2004. She was born on January 29, 1923. After 81 years, it was time to fly away. My mother was born in Nanking, China to Scottish parents. She met my father in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in China during World War II. She married him, moved back to North Carolina with him, and raised my older brother and myself on the farm they bought. She learned how to drive a tractor, help take care of the hogs we raised, and put up with whatever two sons could bring into the house, although sometimes we had to take it back out. She organized a local 4-H club in our area. Her main emphasis was to teach many children in this area to swim. She used to go to our school to help the local children to learn first hand about China, Scotland, and Australia. She was very passionate about these three countries, particularly Scotland. It was important to her that people expand their minds, travel, and learn about other people and cultures, and to respect their beliefs. I miss you and I love you.

The above two pictures of my mother were taken in China. Unfortunately, we do not know when.
This picture of a lobster was painted by my mother when she was 14.
